What do credit and background screenings look like?

TenantCloud offers credit and background screening packages powered by RentPrep.

 

Here is a short definition of what credit and background checks are:

Background Check is a process a person or company uses to verify that a person is who they claim to be, and provides an opportunity for someone to check a person’s criminal record, education, employment history, and other activities that happened in the past in order to confirm their validity.

Credit Check shows the record of the borrower's credit history from a number of sources, including banks, credit card companies, collection agencies, and governments.

The screening fee is non-refundable, and each screening is only good for use on a single application. It cannot be transferred to applications for other properties or landlords. There are no set-up fees or any hidden costs.

 

Landlord can pay for the screening fee or request payment from applicant:

Running a Background Check, landlord will receive the following information on their tenant:

  • SSN Verification/ Address History;
  • National Eviction Search;
  • Nationwide US Criminal & US Sex Offender Search;
  • Global Homeland Search;
  • Bankruptcies Search

 

The following information on a tenant will be obtained with the Credit Check:

  • SSN Verification/ Address History;
  • National Eviction Search;
  • Nationwide US Criminal & US Sex Offender Search;
  • Bankruptcies Search;
  • Full Credit Report with ResidentScore.
