What is the difference between service providers and professionals?

Service Professionals take care of maintenance (cleaning, home improvement, landscaping and lawn care, legal, pets, and others). They can set up their own portal at TenantCloud, and you can communicate and cooperate with them via the system.

When a Tenant sends you a maintenance request, you can assign it to a connected professional and it will appear on their portal. Once assigned, they will be able to view the address and maintenance issue, add materials and files, and communicate with the Tenant and Landlord or Property Manager. Service Professionals can also create invoices and receive payments online.

To view your professionals list, go to "Contacts" from the general setting menu of your dashboard and select "ServicePros."

Please note!
Only Service Professionals can set up a portal and connect with the Landlord or Property Manager. Providers don’t have a portal. You can add them to capture expenses for your records only.

For example:
If you paid $50 to T-Mobile and wanted to record it, you could create T-Mobile as a provider (vendor), and when adding new expenses in accounting, choose T-Mobile as a payee. 

Providers are limited to general contact information for accounting purposes. This is ideal for stores and vendors which provide products. 

Service Professionals can set up an account, but if you do not want to connect them and collaborate within the system, you can keep them unconnected, and all related information will be stored on your end.
