How to enable Two-Factor Authentication for my account?

You can add an extra layer of security to your TenantCloud account by turning on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). So, even if your password is compromised or stolen, only you can log in to your account.

Please note!
When Two-Factor Authentication is active, you’ll be asked to enter a verification code along with your password every time you log in to TenantCloud. The active 2FA requires you to have access to your phone when you log in.

To enable 2FA, please, go to the main "Settings" menu and click on the "Profile Information" link on the left. Scroll down to "Two-Factor Authentication" section and click "Setup" button on the right:

 

If you are using the TenantCloud mobile application, it's impossible to complete this action. Please, use one of the supported browsers to Setup Two-Factor Authentication. Before you can set up 2FA for your account, you’ll need to download and install an Authentication app on your device. 

Here are a few options to get you started:

We recommend Authy (iOS/Android) application.

 

Add a new account in your Authentication app and scan the QR code from TenantCloud's 2FA configuration page by using your device's camera.

 

Your Authentication app will generate a 6-digit verification code for your TC account. Enter this code in the appropriate field at the bottom of the TenantCloud's 2FA configuration page. To finish, press the "Verify code and activate" button.

Please note!
The generated code will be valid for 30 seconds. Then, the code refreshes!

 

Don’t forget to save or to print your backup codes. You can use one of these codes to sign in to your account, in case you lose your phone or delete your Authentication app.

To get your backup codes, click on "Show backup codes" link below the "Two-Factor Authentication" section. You can print the codes immediately by clicking the "Print" button, or you can copy them and store somewhere safe on your device:

 

With active 2FA you will have to enter a verification code along with your password every time you log into your TenantCloud account. To get the code, open the Authentication app on your device and choose your TC account email from the list. Then, enter the generated verification code in the required field on TC's login page.

Please note!
The generated code will be valid for 30 seconds. Then, the code changes!

 

You can "hide" the 2FA for two weeks by checking the "Do not ask me for two weeks" box. During this time you won't have to enter the verification code when logging in to your account:

 

If you have entered the wrong verification code six times in a row, you will have to wait for a minute to try again:
